Fly and Spin Fishing Trips

Lees Ferry on the Colorado lies immediately below the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell. Simply stated, it's 15.8 miles of the most spectacular river scenery in the world. Rainbow trout live here and in numbers to rival any trout fishery on the country. The past few years have seen a resurgence of the numbers and size of the trout. The fish are wild, meaning all generations currently in the river have been spawned there. The last stocking occurred in 1992. Spawning takes place from mid-January to May. That's half the year... one of the many reasons the fishery is such great shape.

Your day will begin dockside meeting your U.S. Coast Guard licensed guide Kevin Campbell. Climb aboard the boat, stash your gear and you're off cruising upriver. We might start wading a gravel bar working in shallow water with a dry fly/ dropper combination. Or begin a drift spin fishing over thousands of trout. Kevin Campbell has been guiding here at Lees Ferry since 1997 and has well over 2300 days chasing these rainbow trout. Learn the latest fly patterns, work on your casting technique and fly-fishing techniques.

Spin anglers are not left out, not to worry. Many methods work here. Jigging, spoons and spinners and bottom bouncing flies are the usual suspects. Spin methods are often the most productive way to hook up these feisty trout.
